Customer use tax explained – webinar
2:00 PM BST
Consumer use tax laws impact a huge number of businesses, yet many face penalties from state audit departments because they don’t understand their use tax requirements.
Consumer use tax applies when there is a taxable transaction where the seller doesn’t collect sales tax. It is then up to the buyer to take the correct amount of tax and to remit it to the appropriate taxing authority.
The state of California reports that consumer use tax is the number one error they find when they audit businesses for sales and use tax.
This webinar will cover:
- What is taxable?
- State examples from California, Washington, Florida and others
- Scenarios that are commonly mismanaged
- New reporting requirements resulting from Wayfair
- Using AvaTax’s CUT module to stay compliant
Cost – free to Avalara customers
The webinar is free to attend so feel free to share the details with your colleagues.
